In Ayurveda shikakai comes under Keshya Dravya (herbs beneficial for hair). Long before the invention of modern shampoos, it was part of the sacred hair-cleansing used for generations in Ayurvedic rituals. Science Backed Research

Findings: In a study, 70 individuals with dandruff were divided into two groups. Group A, with 35 Individuals used Shikakai Hair Wash (10g powder in 240 ml boiled water) every other day for 28 days. Group B (35 people) used a placebo with the same routine. Group A showed an improvement in itching, dandruff, and dryness with no side effects.
