Science Backed Researches

Findings: In the study researchers applied two amounts of a gold solution (100 mg/L): 0.5 mL and 1.5 mL, which gave 15 and 45 micrograms per cm², for 24 hours. The skin absorbed more gold with the higher dose. On average, 214 ng/cm² of gold was found in healthy skin and 188 ng/cm² in damaged skin. Absorption started in less than an hour. Special tests indicated that the gold particles can penetrate deep into the skin layers (epidermis and dermis).
